Trauma & PTSD

Does this sound familiar?

“They say they love me, so how,can they treat me this way?”

“Trust again? Are you kidding? I don’t think that’s possible.”

“Memories still haunt me… will they ever go away??”

Something bad happened to you. Now you’re having a hard time sleeping, you get triggered by the smallest things, and you startle easily.

The event could be a terrible accident, neglect or abuse (emotional, physical or sexual) experienced as a child, an abusive relationship during adulthood, or infidelity or other betrayal.

What is Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)?

Are they the same?

Not necessarily. Not everyone who has trauma has PTSD.

Sometimes PTSD symptoms can show up years after the trauma happened, it may have been blocked out by your brain to protect you. Trauma can occur when something happens that overwhelms our emotions or threatens our life, body, or sanity.

Everyone experiences some sort of trauma during their lives, and it may cause anxiety or other emotions.

I help people heal from traumatic experiences.

Virtually, all of us have some kind of trauma in our lives, though at varying degrees. One person is unaffected, and the other person may be deeply impacted.

Trauma can lead to confusion, rage, guilt, sadness, shame, anxiety, and an assortment of other difficult emotions.

Or it can leave us feeling numb or depressed.

Additionally, trauma experienced in relationships with loved ones is often kept secret, leaving victims isolated or lonely in dealing with the pain.

Gain control and find healing.

We will work together to help you gain the knowledge about the central nervous system and the body in relationship with trauma and/or your PTSD.

We also will work together to systematically design a plan and an approach to address your traumas and/or PTSD.

Many clients have been successful utilizing such modalities as EMDR, EFT, TIR.

“I don’t get triggered anymore about my car accident. I don’t get anxious about driving my car. I feel more in control of my life.”

“I’m more confident and able to face my day-to-day life. It feels great to be in control of myself again!”
